Hello! Here is a rare double signed Gallet / Racine dating to the 1950s. This Decimal Multichron Chronograph contains the famed Excelsior Park 4 (EP4) movement. The red outer scale is for timing events in 1/100ths of a minute, perfect for race analysis. Gallet was formally established in 1826 by Julien Gallet, known for pioneering specialized chronographs for aviation, military and motorsports, including the watch that timed the Wright Brothers' first flight. They also created the first waterproof wrist chronograph (clamshell). Jules Racine & Co. acted as Gallet's distributor in North America, and a cousin of the Gallet brothers founded Racine, leading to shared designs and components. Breitling acquired Gallet in 2025 and plans to relaunch the brand in 2026, so Gallet is about to get some shine and attention. This particular watch is functioning properly all around. The dial and case are in great unpolished untouched condition. The original crystal has some wear, but I’m leaving it also untouched. (It’s still a totally wearable watch and looks better in person.) Case is approximately 38mm, the largest size these came in. Everything is original. The watch has not been fully serviced since the owner acquired it 25 years ago.
