For sale (no trade-in): Omega Speedmaster 3572.50 "Modsukoshi"

For your information, the price of an Omega Mitsukoshi service dial is currently 850 euros (excluding hands) and is only available on trade-in. Given the current market value and further value development of the Mitsukoshi dial, this offer is ‘priced to sell’ and the price is non-negotiable.



Background:
This Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch reference 3572.50 dates from 17 December 1999. It is the very first Moonwatch with the rhodium-plated 1863 movement, luminova dial, hesalite on the front and sapphire crystal on the back. This model combines the beautiful look of hesalite with a beautiful view of the movement through the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The 3572.50 was only produced for approx. four years and was then replaced by the “sapphire sandwich” (sapphire crystal on both sides). It is therefore the more rare Speedmaster of the 1861/1863 era and still has the original 1498/842 strap at full length (suitable for a maximum wrist size of approximately 20/21 cm). This 1498 bracelet is more sought after because of its tapering to 16 mm and its thinner/narrower links, compared to the later versions. This makes it easier to get the right fit and it is much more comfortable to wear than its successors!

Moonwatch Only on the 3572.50 reference

I acquired this Speedmaster 3572.50 in November 2020 from a collector who had never worn the watch, just like the previous owners. The red dot was still on the caseback and the watch was like new. I had it fitted with an authentic Mitsukoshi dial and hands by an Omega-certified watchmaker. I wore it in rotation with my other Speedmasters and this year I decided to buy a genuine Mitsukoshi Speedmaster. In short, the “Modsukoshi” can go to the next enthusiast!


The 1863 movement was fully serviced mid-November 2025 by a Dutch certified watchmaker. So this Speedmaster is good to go for years to come! Because the case and bracelet were still in completely original condition, I have chosen not to have them polished. The current condition is neat and the text “Omega Speedmaster Professional” is still clearly visible on the clasp (this is quickly lost when polished). There are small scratches and other signs of wear visible around the watch, but overall, this Speedmaster is still in very good condition for a 26-year-old watch!
