Up for sale is a Jaquet Droz Tonneau GMT, reference 5195 JS. Jaquet Droz is a Swiss watch brand tracing its heritage to a watchmaker by the same name in the 18th century. Alongside Omega, Blancpain, and Breguet, Swatch group revitalized Jaquet Droz in the 2000s and started releasing new watch designs under a characteristic style. This is one of those watches. The watch dial measures approximately 35mm x 38mm. It features an art deco stainless steel stepped case, somewhat reminiscent in shape to the Cartier Roadster. The dial layout, execution, and breguet numbers on this watch are one of my favorite aspects. The dial has a lot of aspects to it and is certainly not "minimalist," but it has a very nice balance. The black dial, white paint, and stainless steel numbers all work very well together. The watch has a shaped crystal that gives an interesting effect to the watch at different angles. The watch comes on a nice stainless steel Jaquet Droz bracelet with a butterfly clasp. The clasp of the bracelet has a few small hairlines. The watch has a push-button GMT feature that is contained in one of the subdials. The movement is a Jaquet 736 movement, which is manual wind and finished to a very high degree. Overall, the finishing throughout this entire watch is nicely done. The movement is visible through a partially see-through case back.
