This model was discontinued years ago without ever being introduced outside of Japan. It features a fully polished Elegance case, but housing a 9F quartz movement so it is just 11mm thick. The bracelet is also an unusual style, fully brushed links except for a polished cap on either end that adds an extra touch of visual interest. This is a style that Grand Seiko used on some older HAQ models, but which is not found often and to my knowledge hasn't been used on another model in the last 15 years or so. This bracelet also has shorter links which makes it more flexible and accommodating, and it's noticeably more comfortable than other Grand Seiko bracelet styles. In keeping with the rest of the case, the hands and markers are fully Zaratsu polished and do an incredible job of catching the light, and that effect is magnified by the nicely domed sapphire crystal. Overall, this is just elevated a couple notches above Grand Seiko's other HAQ pieces and offers fantastic bang for the buck. The dial appears pure black in most lighting, but when the crystal reflects light directly onto it a very subtle bronze comes out in the brushing (see pics). The case measures 37mm wide without crown, with a 42.9mm lug to lug and 18mm lug width. Bracelet measures up to 8" with all links included.
