[WTS] Wolkov W22 Neige Automatic, Modular Watch w/Extra Straps
Good evening, WatchEx! Something that's sure to be polarizing: I present the Wolkov W22 Neige Automatic. This is probably the most interesting watch I've handled for quite some time. It's dressy neo-vintage meets futuristic and depth-rich design that I've truly not seen on another watch. This is sure to be a divisive piece, but it's absolutely stunning in its own right. This is an odd duck, so check out the retail link below for a full rundown directly from the brand. Wolkov is an independent/microbrand with a number of designs/dials in this modular-ish case setup. The watch case has grooves in the side that allow for lugs (strap pre-attached) to slide on and off, held in by two ball-ends. Swapping straps is super easy - they won't fall off on accident, but a quick twist and they'll slide right out for replacement. Originally a Kickstarter project, the brand is starting to take flight and offers some 1:1 dials and very interesting designs. This reference is limited to just 100 pieces. The dial, for me at least, is the real breadwinner. A laser-cut dial with applied numerals and markers, a unique handset, and crisp ivory-white style with subtle red accents. The high-polish case goes equally well with the matching lugs as it does with the one set of matte black lugs - I personally love the contrast of the black/chrome. Extremely versatile setup here. So, how's it fit? The easiest answer: weird. Not bad weird, but it's truly like nothing else I've tried. The fluid lug design allows for a very comfortable wear, and the watch is almost at its prettiest while off-wrist. Completely different tech, but it's sort of a weird adopted cousin of a Basculante in the way it can be propped up as a desk clock. The watch itself isn't large by any stretch, but the strap system will cause it to wear bigger than you might think. I've got fairly thin wrists with a circumference of around 6.75", narrow across the top of my wrists - see wrist shots below. It's a weird watch and it's either gonna sell right away or take three months, can't wait to see which 😅 Thanks for looking - Cheers!
