Being just a stone’s throw away from Seiko’s HQ, it’s said Seiko employees held so many late-night meetings at the bar that Hisashi Kishi, the head bartender, started creating cocktails for them. These signature cocktails eventually worked their way into the design of Seiko’s watches, like this one. A nod to the theme that is sometimes overlooked is the second hand – it has been designed to look like a cocktail stirrer! ***- The Dial.*** The green dial has a subtle fumé gradient to it and is textured like a pile of matcha leaves. It’s one of the most satisfying dial textures, in my opinion, in the Cocktail Presage collection. The combination of the fumé gradient and the layered and scattered nature of the dial pattern make this a very playful watch in the light. ***- The Case.*** A fully polished and classic stainless steel Presage case from Seiko. Offers up to 50m of water resistance. ***- The Strap.*** Comes on the original leather strap. It’s a soft, stitched, green leather, with a speckled surface – it looks like the skin of a lime to me, which I assume is deliberate given the Raku cocktail has lime juice in it! ***- Limited Edition***. Numbered 0377/7000. **Condition**: In good condition. The crystal, dial and hands are all immaculate.
