The GBAT031 pairs a solid platinum case with a beautifully textured dial, and it’s ultra-thin. The sleek profile comes courtesy of a quartz movement - making this piece more affordable than most ultra-thing Credors. But don’t let me undersell it - it’s quartz, but it’s no slouch.  **The Movement.** Inside is a legendary 8J thermocompensated HAQ, which represents Seiko’s last whatever the cost approach to making quartz movements, before being replaced by the more economical 9F calibre seen in Grand Seikos. Like the 9F, the 8J boasts accuracy of ±10 seconds per year, but dedicated testing by the WUS community shows the 8J consistently outperforms the 9F across all temperature ranges: **The Release.** Released in 2010 with a price tag of ¥840,000 (\~$9,500 at the time), the GBAT031 was part of Credor’s impeccably dressy Signo Collection. The collection wanted its watches to be a subtle sign that the wearer had dignity and class - a brazen mission statement, but one that makes sense when you consider this watch’s discreet elegance. Call it stealth wealth, call it IYKYK - the philosophy fits. **The Dial.** The dial texture is reminiscent of the newly released “Cherry Blossoms” SBGH341 - designed to look like cherry blossoms petals hiding under fallen snow. While I can’t find any official confirmation of the GBAT031 carrying the “Snowflake” name, one glance its dial shows it easily could have. # Details: **Condition:** In great condition overall. Some swirls and hairlines may be visible on the platinum case, but there are no marks of any significance. **Scope**: No box or papers.
