This reference houses the Caliber 6146A hi-beat automatic movement, running at 36,000 beats per hour with 25 jewels, hacking seconds, and a quick-set date. Its high frequency not only ensures exceptional accuracy but also gives the seconds hand a smooth, refined sweep that stands out even among modern watches. The watch features a 37mm stainless steel case shaped under Taro Tanaka’s famed Grammar of Design, with sharp facets and unpolished edges that capture light beautifully. The silver sunburst dial is elevated by its rare crosshair layout, paired with applied steel baton indexes and a framed day-date display at 3 o’clock. Together, these details give the watch a precision-instrument aesthetic. Around the back, the screw-down caseback proudly carries an early type gold Grand Seiko medallion, a signature of vintage GS models. With an 18mm lug width, the watch is typically fitted to a leather strap, often paired with a GS-signed buckle, completing its timeless look. This example remains in good original condition, showing signs of wears as displayed in the photos. The dial is clean and crisp with beautiful sunburst with natural marks can be seen along the vertical line and horizontal line. The crystal is clear and free of scratch.
