The 56KS line holds a unique place in Seiko’s history as the only King Seiko models produced by Suwa rather than Daini, making them distinct within the KS family. Introduced between 1968 and 1975, these watches represented Seiko’s push into high-beat automatic movements just as the quartz revolution was beginning, showcasing daring designs and technical refinement. This example runs on the Caliber 5626, a 25-jewel Hi-Beat automatic with manual winding and hacking, beating at 28,800 vph. The watch features a striking two-tone gray linen dial with subtle texture and original printing. The dial is signed JAPAN 5626-7180R. A signed KS crown is present, and the crystal remains in good shape with almost no marks. The stainless steel case measures 36mm across, 40mm lug-to-lug, excluding the crown, is fitted on the original signed KS bracelet, sized for wrists up to 18.5cm. This example is in great condition for its age, showing minor scratches on the case and the caseback. The crystal is flawless, dial is original and shows no marks. It comes fitted on the original bracelet that fits up to 18.5cm (7 inches). The watch has been fully serviced (which is a must for its age), with all parts are taken out, cleaned up and lubricated. While it does not include the original box and papers, it will be delivered in a standard Seiko box for safekeeping. Price: $550 + $35 flat shipping (via FedEx/DHL, express shipping costs me $60-80).
