My latest quirky find is this 1970s Rontic Aeronaut. Rontic was a German brand founded in 1874, but things get murky from there – they seem to have rebranded Ricoh watches, as the "Aeronaut" name also appears on vintage Ricohs and both crowns are signed by Ricoh. That said, none of the Ricoh Aeronauts I’ve seen have this dual crown and inner bezel setup, but I did find at least two other Rontic Aeronauts with the same configuration. Well, at least we know this wasn’t the first time Germany and Japan teamed up… **Condition:** Good for its age. The case has several scratches and markings, but nothing too deep or that can’t be polished off if you’d like. The dial has minor patina and the crystal has a few superficial scratches that can easily be polished. The lume still shines a little. See detailed photos for full condition and clarity.  **Case Size:** 37 x 43mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 13.2mm and a lug width of 18mm. **Crystal:** Acrylic **Movement:** It seems to have a Ricoh in-house automatic movement with 21 jewels and a quickset date by pulling the crown to the third position. Service history is unknown, but everything is working as it should. **Other information:** * Ricoh-signed crowns. * Comes with a new 18mm black suede strap. **Price:** Asking $180.
