This ‘U’-serial watch dates back to 1998, with the original Rolex warranty papers stamped November of the same year. Manufactured during a transitional year for Rolex sports models, this piece left the factory originally with a rare ‘tritinova’ dial - marked ‘T < 25’ for tritium, but fitted with luminova hands and hour markers. The original set is elevated by accompanying date-matching accessories and a beautifully faded serif coke insert. This watch comes as a complete set with original inner/outer boxes (see ‘16710’ sticker on outer box), date-matching GMT Master booklet, 98/99 calendar, leather wallet, chronometer hangtag, and punched Singapore warranty papers with the correct country code dated 1998. The 78790 bracelet has a matching ‘U’ clasp code dating it to be original, correct 501B end links, and 12 links fitting a 7.5” wrist. The watch is in good original vintage condition with a pristine dial, crystal and set of hands. The watch is unpolished throughout and the factory caseback sticker remains intact. The original bezel insert has some light wear that complements the faded color, but no egregious dings or scratches. The bracelet has minimal to no stretch. The watch has signs of use throughout commensurate with its age and untouched condition, but nothing that couldn’t be laser repaired by RSC during service.
