This Alpinist model is powered by the 8F perpetual calendar HAQ movement which features a GMT function with an independent GMT hand. The Perpetual Calendar movement keeps track of the month, day and leapyears internally. Upon pullingout and pushing back the crown, the secondhand moves to indicate the numbers of years since the previous leap year while the date indicator subsequently changes to the current month.
