The Ulysse Nardin Diver brings the brand’s marine-chronometer vocabulary underwater: on the Diver Chronometer, a power-reserve display and small seconds give the dial a character distinctly its own. That slightly instrument-like layout is a good reason to seek one out if conventional dive watches have begun to feel interchangeable.

The key choice is between the 44mm Diver Chronometer and the simpler Diver 42mm. The former pairs a titanium case with the manufacture UN-118, whose silicon escapement gives the mechanical enthusiast something beyond the dial to appreciate. The steel 42mm version uses the UN-816 and trades those subsidiary displays for central seconds—a cleaner, more familiar everyday watch. When comparing examples, pay attention to the strap’s usable length and fastening arrangement: a fitted rubber strap can leave less adjustment room than you expect.
