Tourby belongs to the small German watchmaking outfits that reward a closer look. Founded in 2007, it has built its identity around mechanical watches with an unusually personal touch: dial choices, hand styles, and movement decoration can change the character of an otherwise familiar design. The vocabulary is largely traditional, but the pleasure is in the particulars rather than a story about recreating the past.

The Marine Enamel models express that approach especially clearly. Pale enamel dials, crisp numerals, and slender hands draw on the legibility of marine chronometers. Hand-wound movements from the Unitas 6498 family suit the format, placing the small seconds at six; through the back, their broad bridges give Tourby room to show its decorative work.

The Lawless takes a different route, trading dressier dial furniture for luminous markers and a rotating dive bezel. Alongside Tourby’s pilot watches, it shows the practical side of the catalogue: direct displays, sturdy cases, and details chosen to make the watch readable at a glance.
