Serica’s watches look familiar until you try to place them. Military field-watch restraint meets curving lugs, unusually spare dials, and bracelets that feel integral to the design rather than added afterward. Founded in France in 2019, the brand draws on mid-century tool watches without simply reproducing one reference. Even the discreet branding leaves the dial room to breathe.

The manually wound 4512 established that vocabulary: compact proportions, several dial configurations, and a supple Bonklip bracelet whose ladder-like construction suited its utilitarian character. The automatic 6190 carries the field-watch idea forward with chronometer certification. Both make a case for small watches with real presence, using strong handset shapes and carefully judged spacing rather than oversized cases.

The 5303 takes those instincts underwater, pairing a distinctive two-scale bezel with a dial that keeps its distance from the usual dive-watch templates. For travel, the 8315 adds a GMT hand and a contrasting ceramic bezel. These are different tools, but their shared visual discipline is easy to spot.
