The Seiko SKX015 gives you the blue dial and red-and-blue bezel of the larger SKX009 in a more compact package. It’s the colorful sibling of the black-bezel SKX013, with the same tucked-away crown at four o’clock and rounded case that make these smaller Seiko divers so comfortable on the wrist.
Choose the SKX015 if you love that two-tone bezel but find the full-size SKX a little too broad. Its 7S26 automatic is straightforward: it neither hand-winds nor stops the seconds hand when you set the time, so those omissions aren’t faults. Originality deserves attention here, since the SKX family has become fertile ground for modifications. Replacement dials, hands, and bezel inserts can change the character substantially; an aftermarket insert may also differ in color and typography from Seiko’s original. Check that the screw-down crown engages cleanly, rather than assuming the diver’s rating still guarantees a watertight watch.
