The Seiko SARB005 takes the everyday mechanical watch in a less restrained direction: an amber-orange dial beneath a faceted sapphire crystal. That cut crystal is the detail to linger over, giving the dial a different frame as you turn your wrist rather than simply offering a clear window onto it.

It appeared in Seiko’s 2006 Japanese catalog alongside the blue-dial SARB001 and dark-dial SARB003; choose the SARB005 for the warmth of its dial, not for a different mechanical specification. All three used the 6R15, with hand-winding and hacking. The particular detail worth checking is the crystal: a flat replacement would lose much of what makes this reference interesting, even if it made the dial easier to read.
