The Seiko 6139 Bruce Lee takes its nickname from the black-dial chronograph the actor wore, rather than from any official Seiko edition. Its attraction is easy to understand: a compact, purposeful dial, a red chronograph hand, and a connection to someone who chose it for his own wrist, not an endorsement campaign.
The 6139-6010 is the reference to start with if that connection matters most; don’t confuse it with the more conspicuous, rotating-bezel “Pogue” models from the same movement family. Inside, the 6139 belongs to the first wave of automatic chronograph calibers introduced in 1969, with a column wheel and vertical clutch. There’s no separate running-seconds display, so a stationary central hand is normal when the chronograph is stopped. What deserves attention is whether that hand and the 30-minute counter reset cleanly to zero—and whether the automatic winding works, since this caliber cannot be wound by hand.
