Orion’s watches tend to announce themselves at the crown: substantial, easy to grip, and treated as part of the design rather than an afterthought. Behind them is Nick Harris, whose route into watchmaking included modifying Seikos and formal watchmaking training. He founded the American brand in 2016, bringing a practical interest in how watches work to the equally absorbing question of how they wear.

The Orion 1 established that approach with a clean dial, prominent crown, and a case that gave a straightforward everyday watch some personality. The Calamity took it underwater. Its restrained dimensions and Swiss automatic movement made for a diver that resisted the usual bulk, while its crown protection gave the case a distinctly purposeful outline.

The Hellcat moves toward the pilot-watch end of the spectrum, using Arabic numerals and strong dial contrast rather than diving hardware. Across these designs, Harris keeps the emphasis on legibility and proportions: familiar watchmaking vocabulary, rearranged with a recognizable hand.
