Explore Momentum
Momentum makes the sort of watches that feel at home beside a wetsuit or a pair of muddy boots: clear dials, substantial hands, and cases designed for use rather than display. The Canadian brand’s range leans heavily toward quartz, with dive and field watches forming its backbone. There’s a pleasing directness to the designs. You don’t have to hunt for the hour hand.
The Atlas takes the field-watch route, pairing a lightweight titanium case with bold Arabic numerals and straightforward three-hand timekeeping. The Torpedo moves into more familiar dive-watch territory, with a rotating elapsed-time bezel and a dial that keeps the essentials prominent. Both capture Momentum’s preference for legibility and practical materials over decorative flourishes.
Then there’s the Sea Quartz 30, a revival of the Chronosport diver worn by Tom Selleck in Magnum, P.I. Its cushion-shaped case, offset crown, and distinctive bezel give it a different character from the field watches—a distinctly early-quartz-era approach to the everyday diver.
