Explore Jacob & Co.
Jacob & Co. came to watches through jewelry, and that origin is easy to read in its taste for color, scale, and spectacle. Founded by Jacob Arabo in 1986, the New York business found a distinctive watchmaking voice with the Five Time Zone: a quartz watch whose brightly colored subsidiary dials put several cities on one wrist.
The Astronomia Tourbillon takes that appetite for display into mechanical watchmaking. Beneath a tall sapphire dome, a rotating assembly carries the time display, tourbillon, and miniature celestial objects around the dial. There is no conventional backdrop to disappear into; the mechanism becomes the scene. Different versions elaborate on that architecture with gemstones, sculptural figures, and increasingly intricate astronomical displays.
The Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon makes a different sort of theater, animating a miniature sixteen-cylinder engine beneath its crystal. For something less elaborate, the Epic X offers openworked, manually wound mechanics framed by the collection’s distinctive X-shaped architecture. It keeps the brand’s preference for exposed machinery, but gives the eye fewer moving attractions to follow.
