Explore Ikepod

Ikepod brought industrial design into Swiss watchmaking in 1994, with co-founder Marc Newson treating the watch as a complete sculptural object rather than a case with lugs attached. Rounded bodies, recessed crowns and integrated rubber straps gave the watches an unmistakable silhouette. They could be large, yet their smooth outlines made them feel closer to something worn against the skin than strapped on top of it.

The Hemipode is central to that original story: an automatic chronograph whose balanced dial sits inside a pebble-like case. The Horizon takes a different route, using a field of dial perforations to create an illusion of curvature and depth. Both show how much character Ikepod could extract from shape, proportion and surface, without leaning on familiar watchmaking decoration.

The brand’s 2018 return brought quartz-powered Duopod and Chronopod models, retaining the rounded cases and rubber straps. The later automatic Megapod restored a mechanical option, with dial designs that give the broad case opening room to breathe.
