HGP’s initials spell out Hommes Grenouilles de Paris: “Frogmen of Paris.” That gives you a better introduction than any slogan. The name belonged to a Parisian diving-equipment shop, which worked with French watchmaking partners to put HGP-signed watches on divers’ wrists. Its modern watches keep that equipment-counter character, with assembly carried out near Besançon.
The Diver 200M Automatic is the clearest expression of that approach. Its 42mm Monnin-shaped case, brushed and polished steel surfaces, and rotating aluminum-insert bezel speak a familiar language to anyone fond of French divers. Sapphire replaces the compromises of older crystals; inside sits Seiko’s NH35. The dial comes in sober black, blue, or a rather less retiring orange.
The Diver 200M Automatic Commando takes a cleaner route with a no-date display, keeping the emphasis on reading the time. The Diver GMT 200M Automatic adds a second time zone within the same 42mm format, with two-color bezel options bringing another recognizable dive-watch vocabulary into the range.
