Khaki Navy

Hamilton’s Khaki Navy is a collection of maritime watches, not a single diver wearing different dials. It stretches from the restrained, deck-watch styling of the Khaki Navy Pioneer to the conspicuous crown protection of the Khaki Navy Frogman, with very different proportions and purposes along the way.

The Khaki Navy Scuba is the familiar rotating-bezel branch, spanning quartz and automatic models in several sizes. The Khaki Navy Frogman takes a more overtly utilitarian direction; its crown-guard construction and case dimensions have changed between generations. The Khaki Navy Belowzero is another distinct proposition, recognizable by its chunky case, prominent corner screws, and a dial that substitutes a zero for the usual twelve. The Khaki Navy Pioneer, by contrast, draws its visual language from marine chronometers rather than underwater equipment.

Movement details help separate generations, too. Earlier automatic models can use conventional ETA calibers, while later examples in branches such as the Khaki Navy Scuba use Hamilton’s H-10, with an 80-hour power reserve. That distinction belongs to the individual model—not to every watch carrying the Khaki Navy name.
