Geckota has a taste for the expressive side of watch design: shaded dials, prominent markers and cases that borrow from the decades when sports watches were finding their shape. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2012, the brand grew out of the watch-strap business behind WatchGecko. That connection gives its watches a natural place in the enthusiast world, where changing a strap can be as satisfying as adding another watch.

The Pioneer is a useful starting point. Its vintage-inflected styling and adventurous dial colours capture Geckota’s willingness to move beyond the usual black-and-white choices. The designs feel familiar without requiring you to identify a particular historical reference; colour and proportion do much of the work.

For a more purposeful sports-watch look, the G-02 takes the diver’s route, with a rotating bezel and readily legible dial. The C-01 heads toward the racetrack instead, pairing contrasting chronograph registers with meca-quartz operation—a different expression of the brand’s fondness for mid-century sports-watch design.
