Explore Fossil
Fossil found its visual language in mid-century American design: rounded cases, vintage-style dial typography, and leather straps that look at home beside denim. Founded in the United States in 1984, the brand helped make the watch a canvas for personal style rather than simply an instrument. Its illustrated presentation tins became part of that identity, borrowing the look of old advertising and collectible packaging.
The collections take that interest in familiar forms in different directions. The Grant pairs Roman numerals with chronograph subdials, giving a dressier layout some everyday utility. The Neutra favors cleaner markers and a more restrained dial, while the Machine leans into industrial textures, with knurled bezels and substantial cases. These are distinct design families, not just different names on the same watch.
Quartz is central to Fossil’s catalog, but mechanical watches have a place too. Automatic versions of the Townsman use dial openings to show the balance at work, bringing visible movement into a collection otherwise known for its traditional round cases and dress-watch cues.
