Explore Debaufre
Debaufre belongs to the enthusiast-led corner of Swiss watchmaking: straightforward mechanical watches whose designs speak the familiar languages of diving and aviation. Its story is closely linked with Steinhart, and the two names still crop up together in forum discussions. What made Debaufre recognizable was less a single signature than an approach: clear dials, substantial cases, and movements chosen for practical, everyday use.
The Ocean-1 is the clearest expression of its dive-watch side. A rotating bezel, luminous markers, and a date window give it an immediately familiar layout, with little decoration to interrupt the reading of the dial. The Ocean-1 GMT adds a second time zone, bringing another useful layer to that same restrained format.
For a different wrist presence, the Nav B pilot watches trade bezel markings for broad, highly legible dials and prominent crowns. Their aviation vocabulary is unmistakable. Manually wound versions bring the additional pleasure of a large movement beneath an equally expansive dial—the proportions are part of the experience.
