Explore Chronoswiss

Chronoswiss makes itself recognizable before you read the name: an onion-shaped crown, a finely fluted case band, and lugs with screwed strap bars. Founded in 1983, the brand took mechanical watchmaking seriously when quartz still dominated the conversation. Its early watches drew on pocket-watch forms, but the regulator dial gave that traditional vocabulary a distinctive purpose.

The Régulateur separates hours, minutes, and seconds rather than stacking their hands at the center. That layout, borrowed from precision clocks used as workshop references, became a Chronoswiss signature. The central minute hand commands the dial; smaller hour and seconds displays establish their own rhythm. Earlier examples pair this arrangement with restrained silvered dials and guilloché, offering plenty to study without crowding the display.

Later Open Gear watches expose the regulator mechanism and lift displays above richly textured dials. The Delphis takes another route: jumping hours, retrograde minutes, and a separate seconds display turn reading the watch into a small mechanical event at the top of each hour.
