Explore Bombfrog
Bombfrog began with a German Navy mine diver’s need for a watch he could trust underwater. Dirk Assmann’s experience in explosive ordnance disposal shaped the brand’s practical outlook: readable dials, sturdy cases and an emphasis on function rather than decoration. The military connection extends to personalized watches ordered by members of police and armed-forces units, rather than government-issued contracts.
The Minesweeper gives that outlook a substantial mechanical form. Its steel case measures 46mm across and 14mm thick, with a black dial, luminous hands and markers, and a 120-click unidirectional bezel. Inside is the automatic NH35; sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and 300-meter water resistance complete a straightforward diver’s specification.
The BT25 takes another route to nighttime legibility with T25 illumination, while the Professional 500 pushes water resistance to 500 meters. Those collections also provide a canvas for the brand’s service connections: EOD and combat-diver editions put specific insignia on the dial, giving the military references a personal rather than purely stylistic role.
