Explore Azimuth
Azimuth approaches the watch dial as something to be reimagined, not merely decorated. Founded in 2003, the Swiss brand has explored aviation instruments, tin robots, and unconventional ways of reading the hour. Its watches are recognizable less by a shared case shape than by a willingness to make the display itself the subject. Even among enthusiasts accustomed to unusual complications, these are designs that invite a second look.
The Bombardier provides the more familiar entry point: a large pilot’s watch with clear numerals and the purposeful appearance of an aircraft instrument. The Mr. Roboto heads somewhere entirely different. Its rectangular case and robot-face dial draw on vintage wind-up toys, bringing a distinctly playful character to a mechanical wristwatch without disguising what inspired it.
Then there is Back in Time, which reverses the usual direction of travel, sending its hands counterclockwise around a correspondingly reversed dial. Reading it requires a small mental adjustment—the sort of deliberate disruption Azimuth enjoys putting between wearer and watch.
