Explore AVI-8
AVI-8 takes its design cues from the cockpit rather than the conventional pilot’s watch. Offset subdials, instrument-style markings, and layered dial surfaces give many of its watches the look of a panel assembled from separate gauges. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2012, the brand builds its collections around aircraft names, using their engineering and aviation stories as starting points rather than repeating one dial formula.
The Hawker Hurricane collection is central to that approach, with chronographs that translate cockpit instrumentation into busy, deliberately asymmetric layouts. The Hawker Harrier II family takes the idea in a more contemporary direction: bold numerals, prominent minute tracks, and contrasting displays suit the aircraft’s jet-age character. Neither is simply a standard aviation dial with an aeroplane added.
The Spitfire collection offers another side of AVI-8, including automatic models with layered displays and more mechanical detail in view. Across the range, quartz chronographs sit alongside automatics; the common thread is an interest in how aircraft instruments organize information.
