Armand Nicolet’s story begins in 1875 in Tramelan, in Switzerland’s watchmaking Jura. The workshop developed its expertise in movement finishing and complicated watches long before the modern collections took shape. That mechanical emphasis still gives the brand its most interesting thread: alongside contemporary Swiss movements, it makes room for mechanisms manufactured decades ago.
The O.H.M. collections—short for Original Historical Movement—are the ones to know if old calibers quicken your pulse. They use unused vintage movements, restored and finished for installation in newly made watches. The L09 belongs to this family, pairing hand-wound mechanics with a dial that lets the movement enter the conversation. These aren’t vintage watches recased wholesale; the attraction is the meeting of an older mechanism and a modern watch.
Elsewhere, the M02 takes a more conventional dress-watch direction, while the S05 brings rotating bezels, stronger lume, and a sportier stance. Across these different branches, textured dials, applied markers, and sculpted cases give Armand Nicolet plenty of visual personality.
