Aquadive is a name for readers who like their dive watches broad-shouldered and purposeful. The cushion-shaped cases, deeply recessed dials, and substantial rotating bezels give its watches a distinctly instrument-like character. There is plenty of metal here, but the design is more than bulk: short lugs help contain the footprint, while clear hands and markers keep the business of reading the watch straightforward.
Founded in 1962, Aquadive made underwater instruments as well as conventional dive watches. Its vintage Model 50 brought a depth gauge into the watch itself, an unusually direct expression of the brand’s interest in equipment for divers. That practical streak helps explain the shapes: these were objects intended to be read and operated underwater, not simply styled to suggest it.
The modern Bathyscaphe collection carries that visual language forward. The Bathyscaphe 100 and larger Bathyscaphe 300 are central references, pairing Swiss automatic movements with emphatic case construction. The Bathyscaphe 100 GMT adds a second time zone without abandoning the broad bezel and uncluttered diver’s dial.
