Seiko World Time GMT Automatic 6117-6049, with black and orange dial, is a sought after watch for Seiko collectors with rotating inner bezel with cities of the world, and red GMT hand. This one is a nice vintage example with original rail track bracelet. I am thinnning a rather large Seiko collection.

Case: Stainless steel in good condition, some marks consistent with age. Horseshoe caseback with intact text, some opening marks as seen.
Dial: Original charcoal black and orange version which has aged to a dark brown hue with linen texture. Orange 24 hr GMT track. Rotating inner "Cities of the World" bezel rotates smoothly. Original hands and lume, steel hour markers with intact lume, glows with UV light and fades over few seconds as original tritium should. Date window at 3:00
Movement: 6117 with date and GMT hand, running well starts up with about 10 shakes, keeping good vintage time. Date function quick set working as it should. Service history unknown. Caseback very tight so no movement photo available.
Crystal: Appears to be original thick acrylic crystal, superficial marks no significant scratches or cracks seen.
Bracelet: Original steel rail track in good condition. Fits my 7 3/4 - 8 inch wrist comfortably. See catalogue photo with this bracelet. Also including a new NATO strap light blue to match cities text, with orange stripe which gives the watch a sporty fun look.

Watch is running as described to best of my knowledge, and photos accurately document condition. Watch is sold as is, with no future guarantee or warranty. Service always a good idea if planning to wear regularly. Vintage watches should be kept away from water.

This watch is from 1970, and has the so-called "Error Bezel" where London is moved to Paris time 1 hour away from GMT, which was due to temporary British legislation to lengthen daylight hours with the hope to reduce traffic fatalities. This change was temporary, but the Seiko watches were adjusted accordingly so they were not in error but have been known as such by collectors. You rotate the inner bezel and put your city/timezone on the red GMT hand, and then look to find the other city timezone on the adjacent orange 24 hr track. Rather "low tech" but appealing in a vintage manner.
