# SBGV223 Video: [https://imgur.com/a/hRe67x2](https://imgur.com/a/hRe67x2) For sale is this Grand Seiko SBGV223, this is a 40mm instead of the 37mm of most GS HAQ Heritage models. Comes with inner and outer boxes, instructions, and bracelet measuring up to 8.5" laid flat as shown. It's in very good condition and the bracelet is near mint as the watch was only worn on a strap. The case measures 40mm wide without crown, with 20mm lugs and a 46.8mm lug to lug measurement. The 9F82 movement makes this quite thin at 10mm. The movement is running perfectly, with all functions operational including the awesome split second date change, and a fresh battery installed. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
